Christmas 2012 Southern Style

These two loved flying. On the way to South Carolina they were complete angels and we honestly had no issues with them whatsoever. They entertained themselves with just looking out the window and I overly prepared myself with toys, lollipops, coloring books, kindles, and books. On the way home....totally different story and it was a complete nightmare. Brooklyn went 12 hours without sleeping and Weston just wanted to go back to Grammy and Grampy's house. But we survived either way!

Loved that these two held hands while we were taking off the first time.

One of the kazzilions of toys at grammy's house the kids played with!

Tried to get my kids to take a picture with me....FAIL!

My grandmother owns a golf cart and Ryan loves driving it around when we go our there. Well, day 1 we loaded all the kids up and it died in the middle of the road. Needless to say we didn't have anymore trips on the golf cart and Ryan and my dad about killed themselves pushing it back home:(

Favorite part of South Carolina besides family..the beach!
Auntie Lindsay and Brooklyn

Christmas morning!!!!!

Way to many presents....way too much stress getting them across the country. But we did and the kids have been playing nonstop with them all!

Brooklyn fell in love with Grampy instantly and gravitated towards him the whole vacation. Love this picture so much!

Gotta love these facial expressions!

Love my family so so much!

Brooklyn loved the alligator at the Hogle Zoo.

Enjoying the tropical fish

Weston became obbessed with shark during this trip and flipped out when he saw them at the zoo.

On the carousel with Grammy!

Right before we went into Cracker Barrel, which is Ryan's new favorite restaurant!

lazy mornings

Love lazy mornings.
This is one of my favorite times of the day.
Love how relaxed they are when they first wake up.
Love the peacefulness and stillness in the home.
Love their adorable footie pajamas.
Love snuggling under warm blankets and watching Disney Jr.
Most of all love starting the day of just cuddling with my 2 favorite kids!!!

Happy Birthday Weston

Starting his birthday morning with a typical Poffenberger breakfast...donuts!

For this birthday we took him to Fat Cats to play some games, which he LOVED. To be honest I don't know who had more fun...Ryan or Weston;)

Both these two could sit at this game for hours at a time if I let them. Seeing them both laugh while playing this made the whole trip worth it.

What kind of reaction is this?!?! Whatever it is, it cracks me up and totally sums up his personality:)

When he opened up his pirate ship I thought he was going to cry cause he was so happy. He dropped everything, ran to me, gave me a hug, told me he loved me and that he was the happiest he has ever been. Then he ran to his "Bucky ship" and has been playing with it nonstop!!!
Weston's Papa surprised him for his birthday and he has been in heaven since he showed up last night. Nonstop talking, camping, playing, and exporing the pastures outside with Papa has been such an added bonus for the birthday boy!!!!!

I gotta give this girl credit for being such a good sport. She did however blow out his candles before he even got a chance to attempt to do it. We did a redo and of course she tried blowing them out again. Weston laughed though and told her she did a great job blowing them out.
PS The only way I can get a picture of her right now is to sit her on my lap and take a picture with her.

HAPPY 4th  BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE LITTLE MAN!
This kid has brought more laughter, happiness, and pure joy into our home than I ever thought possible. His kindness, humor, imagination, and gentle personality makes me feel so lucky to be his mom!

Snapshots

Gotta take care of those pearly whites!!!

Act of love or act of insanity?

Gotta love when your kids treat a ride on the lawn mower with daddy like a 5 star ride at Disney World!

Love hot chocolate mornings with my favorite little girl!

Picked them himself, found the glass himself, filled it with water and put it on his night stand next to his bed. love my little man

Happy girls are the prettiest girls

Sweetest cupcake I kow

Brooklyn loves animals so much and was thrilled with the petting zoo at the Idaho State Fair.

This is what happens when we go see daddy at work.

Weston and Brooklyn had been fighting nonstop all morning but I guess nothing screams sibling love more than sharing spit over a glass of soda that was of course meant to me mine...ps. it was so worth the sugar high for 10 minutes of peace and quiet for this momma;)

sick day and still adorable

One evening I was doing my dishes and looked up and saw this sunset. Beyond blessed.
Weston won his first fish and it lasted all but 2 days. That is what happens when you leave me in charge of a goldfish.

Weston's first rainbow. Saving this picture forever!!!

Never a dull moment in this household!!!!

Blessed

Don't ask me how I lucked out and got such cute kids.
These two truly are my world.
it full of light, laughter and just plain craziness.
And each day I wake up incredibly grateful for what Heavenly Father has blessed me with.
A wonderful husband who I love and teaches me the meaning of family and unconditional love.
A beautiful home that I am having so much fun decorating.
Kids and redifine the word love for me.
Friends that bring comfort and laughter to my life here in Rexburg...girls night just makes life so much fun!!!!
Family that I miss a ton but always light up my life when I talk to them on the phone.
The gospel that I am learning to love more deeply as I teach my children just how important, vital, comforting and wonderful it it.
Above all, I am very very BLESSED!!!!

scriptures

Weston is always pretending to read scriptures when he sees Ryan and I reading our scriptures.
Today I decided to give him his own pair.
His first pair of scriptures.
He LOVES them.

Tonight after family prayer I went to get Weston for bed and I found him reading his sciptures on his bed.
He saw me and said " Look mom I am reading my scriptures. Come read your scriptures with me".
We sat and read our scriptures today.
I cried to whole time because the spirit was so so strong.
He wanted to know where Jesus was in the sciptures.
We talked about Nephi and building the ship.
He was so interested and eager to learn.
I was so incredibly proud of him.

After we read his scriptures he kissed them goodnight and told them he loved them.
I was reminded tonight just how vital and important it is to read my scriptures.
Not only for myself, but because I have two little eyes watching the example I set for them and want so much to choose the right.
